Wired Reports On Rossi Success

Sunday, October 30, 2011

Kudos must go to Wired journalist David Hambling for having backbone (when others flopped like limp jellyfish) to write a fair summary of the recent 1MW Cold Fusion test by Andrea Rossi.

"Against all the odds, Andrea Rossi's E-Cat cold fusion power plant passed its biggest test yesterday, producing an average of 470 kilowatts for more than five hours. (A technical glitch prevented it from achieving a megawatt as originally planned). The demonstration was monitored closely by engineers from Rossi's mysterious US customer, which was evidently satisfied and paid up.
The energy was output in the form of heat, measured by the quantity of water boiled off. The results are reported in NyTeknik and Pure Energy Systems News, who both had reporters present for the test. Associated Press also sent a correspondent who should be filing a story in the next few days (one suspects his editors might have some questions)."

eCat Self Sustained at Half A Megawatt With No Input For Over 5 Hours

Saturday, October 29, 2011

In yesterday's test of the 1MW eCat plant, after a period of time it Self-Sustained With No Input Power For Over 5 Hours While Producing an astonishing 470 Kwh/ph. 100 smaller eCatalyzers made up the whole plant which is housed inside a shipping container.

"According to the customer’s controller, Domenico Fioravanti, the plant released 2,635 kWh during five and a half hours of self sustained mode, which is equivalent to an average power of 479 kilowatts – just under half the promised power of one megawatt." NY Teknik

"There were some issues, so it couldn't be run at full power in self-looped mode, but what it did do was plenty impressive." - Sterling Allan, PESWIKI

On completion of the test. Small water leak is visible.

Breakthrough

On completion of the test Rossi was asked if he thought it was a breakthrough:

"If I think the test of today is a breakthrough? I think yes, yes because today we have seen no more small 5 or 10 kw unit, but now we have overcame the difficulties connected with the basic engineering to make something to go in self sustaining mode to make 400 Kwh per hour."

"You can also think that hundreds of Billions of dollars have been spent to try to have a cop of 1,1 with nuclear fusion. Today we have made a theoretically endless CoP making 470 Kwh per hour of completely free energy, free of fuel and yes, I think this is a breakthrough. Of course this is the first step, but it is a very important first step."

The Customer Report

According to the report the test was met with approval from the customer and the 1MW plant will now be shipped to the customer. it will then undergo further tests
in order to develop the technology.

There is still no real indication who the customer is, but clearly marked at the top of the report and then subsequently scored out with a pen is the word "colonel" in front the controller's name Fioravanti. Rossi indicated that the customer belongs to one specific category of organisations, and the title Colonel could be an indication that the customer is military - although this is by no means confirmed.

There is speculation on the possible customer identity however. An observant person noticed that in the properties section of the attached Excel datasheet that was posted was the author's name: a large Bologna company called "Manutencoop Facility Management", however they may not be the actual customer, but just a company contracted to help out on the day.

University Of Bologna / Uppsalla Testing

Rossi has confirmed that the testing by Bologna University and Upssalla can now start
under an agreed research contract

Sterling Allan's PESWIKI have posted their report of the events of the day which can be read here. http://pesn.com/2011/10/28/9501940_1_MW_E-Cat_Test_Successful/

eCat Test: Mainstream *FINALLY* Break 9 Months Of Silence

The eCat Test Seems to Have Been A Big Success. UK based Wired.co.uk Are The First To Break Their Establishment Chains
Andrea Rossi Talks To Journalists Outside The 1MW Plant
Soon after Wired published their article, SlashDot followed and then many more lesser known blogs and sites. The LARGE global controlled media and science journals still refuse to submit to the growing pressure to report these events - similar to how the Chinese media block anything relating to the events in Tiananmen Square.

The full results and details are currently under embargo for the benefit of NY Teknik and FOCUS.IT who were present at the test.

Representing FOCUS Magazine was Raymond Zreick - here is a selection of his Tweets from the last 24 hours.

Raymond Zreick - TWITTER FEED
Raymond Zreick is a senior editor at FOCUS Magazine (Italy).

"we couldn't take pictures of the open cell. and they didn't show us directly the secret reactor"

"we'll be able to take pictures of all the components BUT the SMALL black box with the so called secret ingredient"

"when the device will be cooler (the steam temerature's been measured to be over 110°C), it will be OPENED for us!"

"e-cat worked on self-substained mode from 14.58 untill 19. at 19 started the cooling down"

"the steam was always kept above 110 degrees"

"from 15 to 19 the difference in average temperature was 5 ° C (water inlet and outlet water), for 0.6 cubic meters / hour"

"among the guests there are Levi, Stremmenos and Ferrari (alma mater di bologna), Focardi and other physicists from different companies"

Note: The small BLACK Box that he is referring to is presumably the reactor core which contains the secret catalyst.

"@ All I see someone who continues to judge that is thought to be rather than what it is. Meanwhile, Bologna and Uppsala go forward, confident and even more convinced today than yesterday"
"The E-Cat warms, but the party is just beginning. It's a metaphor, of course, here it's over an hour and a half in advance and we're all leaving. I put my bike in between myself and a maximum of 3 hours I'll be home. Good evening to all"
"Over the next few days (but already starting tomorrow) will be released so much material produced here today that all the skeptics of the world are likely to go seriously overdose!"

Looking Inside The 1MW eCat Plant

Mainstream Coverage

Wired.co.uk's article was cautious, but also very optimistic.  It seems they are preparing themselves for the reality of the eCat being a genuine hope for the future. Why Wired talked to Steven Krivit is a mystery. "According to my analysis, his claim has no scientific credibility," Krivit told Wired.co.uk. The device he claimed to heat a factory in Bondeno seems to exist only on paper." - WTF?

In attendance At The Test

Mats Lewan (NY Teknik) Chats With Raymond Zreick (FOCUS)
Approx thirty scientists and engineers from various countries including Christos Stremmenos, Defkalion (Board Member), Prof Giuseppe Levi and Prof Loris Ferrari from the University of Bologna along with Dr. Sergio Focardi. The media representative in attendance were Mats Lewan of  NyTeknik, Mauricio Melis from Radio 24, Irene Zreick and Raymond Zreick f rom Focus.it, Radio Città del Capo

Very interesting in it's own right was that there were representatives from Confindustria present at the test. According to Wikipedia - "Confindustria is the Italian employers' federation, founded in 1910. It groups together more than 113,000 voluntary member companies, accounting for nearly 4,200,000 individuals. It aims to help Italy's economic growth, assisting, in doing so, its members. It is a member of the International Organization of Employers (IOE)." - If the eCat goes on to change large portions of the energy, create jobs and create new industry then it makes perfect sense for these guys to be present.
