ClimateGate Scandal: Gore Speaks Out

Sunday, November 29, 2009

If you've been holidaying on Venus for the last week, you may have missed some incredible news.

Remember Al Gore and his powerpoint slides?  Remember that poor Polar bear swimming about as the ice around him melted while he desperately searched for a Fox's Glacier Mint to camp out on? Remember the audience full of real human beings starry eyed and swooning with admiration in the presence of a god like Vito De Gorelioni? (Don mess wit da femilee.) Well would you be surprised to know it's a steaming pile of horse manure?  If you hadn't worked it out already then you definitely should have this week.

Some naughty members of the hacking fraternity obtained access to the UK's University Of East Anglia computer system and managed to get a hold of a whole stack of documents and email exchanges.  This universities Climatic Research Unit is well known for it's involvement in providing global warming data which over the years has helped push public opinion to introduce laws, form government policies,  and now the latest scam idea - Carbon Tax.

The emails which were exchanged by some of the most prolific scientists in the field suggest conspiracy, collusion in grossly exaggerating global warming data, organized obstruction to disclosure, manipulating data, private admissions of errors in their public claims and the list goes on.

One of the emails even pokes fun over the death in 2004 of John L Daly (a leading man-made climate change skeptic), by stating: “In an odd way this is cheering news.”

"Hang on a minute!.  Some prolific scientists that the public put their trust in simply ignoring data and reaching a wrong conclusion? - Now where have I heard that before?" - Ed.

With a maximum of only 32 days left before Irish technology firm Steorn begin launch of their free energy technology ORBO, time will only tell what future lies in introducing needless fake taxes which have nothing to do with saving the earth and everything to do with corporate profiteering.

Wow, I used to enjoy your blogs, but to read your out right lies about the global warming emails is sad. I'll debate you anytime-- just leave me a comment if you accept. Even Gavin Schmidt, a research scientist with NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies publicly said, "There's nothing in the e-mails that shows that global warming is a hoax"

FE Truth November 29, 2009 at 4:13 PM

The University have already came out and admitted the emails are authentic. People are free to read these and make up their own mind.

They seem pretty straight forward to me.

Phil Jones

Mike, Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4? Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis. Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address. We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.

Phil Jones again

The skeptics seem to be building up a head of steam here! … The IPCC comes in for a lot of stick. Leave it to you to delete as appropriate! Cheers Phil
PS I’m getting hassled by a couple of people to release the CRU station temperature data. Don’t any of you three tell anybody that the UK has a Freedom of Information Act !

More Phil Jones, where he at least considered that deleting emails could be wrong:

Haven’t got a reply from the FOI person here at UEA. So I’m not entirely confident the numbers are correct. One way of checking would be to look on CA, but I’m not doing that. I did get an email from the FOI person here early yesterday to tell me I shouldn’t be deleting emails – unless this was ‘normal’ deleting to keep emails manageable!

Or how about telling the truth? How is this different in context?

Michael Mann

Perhaps we’ll do a simple update to the Yamal post, e.g. linking Keith/s new page–Gavin t? As to the issues of robustness, particularly w.r.t. inclusion of the Yamal series, we actually emphasized that (including the Osborn and Briffa ‘06 sensitivity test) in our original post! As we all know, this isn’t about truth at all, its about plausibly deniable accusations.

Or what about the issue of global temperatures cooling in the last decade, a point that many statistics show but is likewise denied by these scientists? What’s the context here?

Kevin Trenberth

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.

Mick Kelly

Yeah, it wasn’t so much 1998 and all that that I was concerned about, used to dealing with that, but the possibility that we might be going through a longer – 10 year – period of relatively stable temperatures beyond what you might expect from La Nina etc. Speculation, but if I see this as a possibility then others might also. Anyway, I’ll maybe cut the last few points off the filtered curve before I give the talk again as that’s trending down as a result of the end effects and the recent cold-ish years.

Gavin Schmidt, a research scientist with NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies publicly has it correct, "There's nothing in the e-mails that shows that global warming is a hoax" It's sad how anti global warmest are clinging to these emails with false hope. All they prove is scientists are human, and you'll always find bad seeds in bunch. Global warming is a fact.

Anonymous,  November 30, 2009 at 1:25 AM

Has anyone noticed how most of the overunity people are anti global warmest. Shocking! That's the opposite one would expect. Who are these people. He he, maybe evil oil corps are paying them off. I'm now wondering if steorn is on the act. All you people working hard to achieve OU, never get discouraged!

It gets a lot worse, the scientists at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have now admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

How long more is this climate change swindle going to go on? It is the poor that have to pay for the carbon taxes to keep Al Gore and his buddies going in the fake business of climate change. Welcome to the era of compulsory snake oil purchase. The Nobel prizes are not worth a damn other than as a tool to legitize the fraud that is climate change.

Unbelieveable

Anonymous,  November 30, 2009 at 11:52 PM

It might take a longer time to see the effects of CO2 in the atmosphere, but not to change the fundamental way we live and pretending nothing needs changing is delusional.

There is no swindle or scam in the certainty that the age of digging it up, or pumping it up or chopping it down, processing it, using it once and then throwing it out is coming to a rapid close.

You guys sound like you were right about the color of the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Al Gore is a fraud.

Anonymous,  December 1, 2009 at 1:05 AM

Can we get away from this topic. Everyone knows there are two sides, okay. NASA says the emails do not prove global warming is a hoax. Hackers say it does.

Lets not argue or talk about this. Steorn's website went down for hours today, and now it's up some actual changes such as the "Magnetic Torque Measurement System" page. They're obviously working on their website now. Folks, looks like Steorn is about to really do it after all, shock the world!
Oh the poor science community has to rewrite quantum physics now, LMAO!!

Anonymous,  December 1, 2009 at 7:56 AM

Al Gore is awesome!

Anonymous,  December 1, 2009 at 9:22 AM

Some web presentation is launched, just to be able to tell "we launched (something) before the end of 2009". Craig 007 claims victory. It will announce the next steps that will be taken in 2010 in the process of commercialising Orbo. At first the 'skeptical believers' will rebel, but after few days and the convincing comments of Sean they will rejoin the herd. A demo is planned for Q2 2010. It will be live televised from Mexcio City together with the launch of the new Orbo2000 website for the 2000 most dedicated tinkers. After some 'incident' with 'foreign security agents' the live demo is cancelled, but the website is still launched. Steorn starts selling magnets and batteries to be used in building test-rigs by the Orbo2000 believers. By the end of 2010 Steorn posts a small profit, the first ever. They also start selling T-shirts, parfume and underwear in the 'Orbo' line.

You need to lay off the Kool Aid.

Chris December 3, 2009 at 1:48 AM

"introducing needless fake taxes which have nothing to do with saving the earth and everything to do with corporate profiteering"

How is it corporate profiteering?

"Some prolific scientists that the public put their trust in simply ignoring data"

This is no data on Steorn. There are only people claiming there is data. NOT the same thing.

If Steorn is going to mean we don't need to emit carbon, why are you even bothered?

FE Truth December 3, 2009 at 7:18 AM

If you don't understand by now that ETSs are just more ways to tax the people then I cannot help you.

Gore's company "Blood & Gore" (Google it)stand to make billions from the introduction of Carbon Trading Schemes.

It will take time for Orbo tech to reach end user products so in the meantime I think we should be careful not to enter into any global taxation scam that benefits some fat cat bankers while robbing the people.

Chris December 3, 2009 at 7:44 AM

I'm not an advocate of carbon trading schemes but I certainly do not understand why you are even bothered.

If a free energy device produces endless mechanical energy it will absolutely definitely not take more than days to weeks for it to be everywhere. It doesn't even have to affect end users since end users are already geared up for electrical appliances. Connecting mechanical output to generators is not difficult.

FE Truth December 3, 2009 at 9:34 AM

Why would YOU care If I'm bothered or not? You sure sound like a Gore apologist to me.

Your assumption that it will only take days / weeks for the tech to be everywhere is quite frankly wrong. Everyone knows roughly how a hard disk drive works - but could they build one in their garage?

There is some very precise engineering required with things of this nature and I'm afraid it will take a while before consumers own free energy products.

Christ 007...
I’ve followed all this for a while and I’ve seen you back Steorn when there was no reasonable way to do so. Now you are claiming that global warming is a fraud based on some EXTREAMLY circumstantial and subjective evidence. Of which (the emails) we don’t even have a complete picture of yet.

Does it not bother you even a little that even if you are correct about Steorn it will be for all the wrong reasons? You aren’t the lone man of truth standing in the wilderness of lies. If Orbo is real you will simply be the luckiest paranoid delusional person in history, as (for the most part) you haven’t based your zealous belief in Orbo on anything other than your zealous belief in Orbo. You are like the guy in an end of the world disaster movie standing in Time Square with the “end is near” sandwich board on just as the terrible disaster strikes. Sure it gives the audience a laugh but that guy wasn’t right, he was just correct…

FE Truth December 4, 2009 at 1:41 PM

"Extremely circumstantial evidence" - you are having a laugh right?

They were caught lying their a$$es off, falsifying data, obstructing FOI requests, deleting damaging emails, fessing up that they were having difficulty manipulating the data and the list goes on.

Just quit while you are behind and tell the other gits that Copenhagen is next.

PS: You are simply not qualified to make any judgement on what I know / believe about Steorn. I have been up close and personal with this process for nearly 4 years. You on the other hand come in here all Johnny anonymous and try to tell me where I'm going wrong.

Go back to the molecrap forum and fling mud at what you don't understand over there. Maybe if it's full Randi will give you a membership on his debunker forums.
