Steorn 2008: The Year Ahead

Monday, December 31, 2007

I’d say we can expect a resurgent Steorn to emerge this year after a self-induced publicity coma.

A second public demo will occur that will most likely be held live in Dublin within the first 6 months of the year. I’d expect that the format will be much the same as the Kinetica demo. Live webcams, public up close and a device doing useful work with no identifiable source of energy. Nice.

As Steorn have already told us, the demo will just “happen” and not be pre-announced, so expect absolutely no warning in the press. Not that the press are too concerned with reporting on free energy anyway and are more concerned with celebrities entering rehab.

I’d guess that there would need to be some sort of Steorn jury announcement in 2008 as to the successful validation of the technology by the 22 scientists.

Hopefully 2008 will be remembered, as the year free energy was introduced to the world.

Happy New Year,

Steorn: Free Energy 2007 - A Year In Review

Thursday, December 27, 2007

Well, that’s just about it for 2007.

Let’s take time to reflect on some of the events of 2007. The year started with the SPDC (Steorn Private Developers Club) being officially opened in February and taking shape nicely.

We had the unfortunate leaking of the Stonkey (Steorn Oil Donkey) validation product video first which made an ironic and sharp witted poke at the oil industry and the corporate elite who run it. We then had the Steorn jury start work on evaluating the technology.

One member of the jury underestimated the power of Google search and minutes of a meeting where he confirms Steorn jury membership were made public by mistake. Since then no other jury members have been identified – a clear indication of how successful the process has been.

Then more importantly and probably one of the most tantalizing pieces of publicly available evidence was the leaking onto Google Video of the film footage featuring respected engineer Thieu Knapen (pictured above). You know the one I mean. The one where he concludes that Steorn have indeed found a way to extract free energy and where he speaks about it as being a miracle. Anyway, I digress…

On the opposite foot we then had the Steorn London demo at Kinetica Museum which although it ran initially, eventually had bearing failure before the public got to see it. Ultimately this was the low point of the entire Steorn year.

Following that we had (SPDC member) Blake who is the first known non-Steorn employee to have successfully recreated a working prototype which ran for 8 hours and possibly more without any identifiable energy source. In a world exclusive FE Truth interviewed Blake and got his personal account of the events of that night.

Then I interviewed Sean McCarthy (CEO of Steorn) here on FE Truth and among other things he had the following to say.

FE Truth: What sort of a fight do you expect that the energy / oil / mining companies will put up to stop Orbo from impacting their business?

Sean: Unfair would be the straight answer. I’m from that industry and they’re not fair fights… but I’m looking forward to them.

FE Truth: Have you had any licensing enquiries from interested companies since you went public in August 2006?

Sean: Every day of every week.

FE Truth: What’s Steorn’s position on the licensing of the tech for possible military and weapons applications?

Sean: It’s specifically precluded.

FE Truth: How many patents do Steorn hold in relation to Orbo technology?

Sean: In the region of 15 – 20 applicationsFE Truth: I know I’m asking you to try and be psychic here, but if your timeline of validation goes to schedule and electronics /engineering companies start licensing orbo technology for development in their own products, how soon should the public expect to see orbo powered consumer products on sale? Is 2009 an unrealistic target?

Sean: It depends on what kind of products you are talking about. I always equate this to the hard disk drive. Right now you can have a hard disk with huge capacity for fifty bucks but that’s not how they started out, they started out costing a hundred million dollars for a couple of hundred kb of disk space, this has taken 50 years. Orbo will be no different.

I doubt it will be the same fifty year cycle with Orbo because development timeframes are always compressing. Also community development as we plan to have with the SKDB compresses timeframes but we cannot put a specific date on it. We can only hope that it happens in a short timeframe. There’s a lot of engineering involved in taking Orbo from where it is to your phone.

FE Truth: Have Steorn ever been offered a deal by a large corporate to buy the technology? I’m thinking along the lines of GE or Toyota, General Motors. Those types of companies.

Sean: We’ve had lots of interest from very large multinational companies but we haven’t presented an opportunity to discuss it. Our position has been clear from the outset; we’ll validate this and then the big companies will get the same shot as the small guys down the road. Also, when asked about whether Steorn had been offered money or “incentives” to black shelve their technology Sean says that this had not happened.

He had this to add “No amount of money can prevent the technology getting to market.”

Just recently The President of Ireland Mary McAleese then visited Docklands Innovation Park (home of Steorn) to recognize the park as a centre of excellence and innovation.

All in all, despite the demo problems we’ve had several public endorsements of Steorn’s free energy claims by third parties, so a good year for them in that sense.

Steorn Public Opinion Poll Sabotaged

Monday, December 10, 2007

Some months ago we started an opinion poll on what the public thought of Steorn. In the last two weeks someone has painstakingly voted then removed the voting cookie, then voted again tens and tens of times in order to skew the results towards the "hoax" choice.

We know where the perpetrators motivation lies and to which organisation they are loosely involved with. It was a feeble attempt and has only shown them up for the cockroaches they are.

This proves that we are doing something right and we will continue to bring out the truth about free energy, it's existence, and it's subsequent supression. In particular we will continue to bring you news of the most promising free energy technology so far. Orbo.

The choices were:

1. I believe them.
2. It's a hoax / fraud
3. Measurement error.

Up until a couple of weeks ago BEFORE the poll was manipulated by the stats were as follows:

1. 40%
2. 30%
3. 30%

Quite clearly showing that 70% believe Steorn's claims or that it's measurement error. Only a third thought that it was some sort of hoax. Quite clearly the biggest percentage is in the "I believe them" category. A victory for common sense and a tribute to the public's growing awareness of the truth.

Debunkers: The 3 Types

Thursday, November 22, 2007

It must be understood that all debunkers commit one or more of three errors:

1. They do not know the data,
2. They ignore the data
3. They distort the data to make it conform to their explanations.

There are no exceptions to this rule.

This is especially pertinent to free energy. You will find that anyone wishing to explain it all away will fit into one of these three categories.

Who Killed The Electric Car?

Saturday, November 17, 2007

OK. You need to see this film.

You also need to tell everyone you know about it. It's a fascinating and revealing insight into how oil companies and auto manufacturers are telling us what products we want.

Well, I want an electric car and as you know the customer is always right!

For those of you who don't know. In 1993 California adopted strict regulations demanding that 10% of all cars sold in the state would have ZERO emmissions - the ZEV mandate. Zero Emmissions Vehicle Mandate.

The cars took the shape of electric vehicles. There was the EV1 from General Motors, a RAV 4 EV, and even a Honda EV.

They cost substantially less per mile, they had no exhaust gases, 90% of the popululation could commute the distances they needed in them. People loved them. They were quiet, sleek, fast and cost way less.

Predictably General Motors, among many other car manufacturers instigated a legal action which ultimately led to the demise of the electric car. All of the EV1's on the road were taken back by GM and crushed.

From wikipedia:

"Fearful of losing business to a competing technology, they supported efforts to kill the ZEV mandate. They also bought patents to prevent modern NiMH batteries from being used in US electric cars."

Car companies

"Negative marketing, sabotaging their own product program, failure to produce cars to meet existing demand, unusual business practices with regards to leasing versus sales. The film only explains this behavior once, saying that electric cars needed fewer expensive repairs and would hence not make the car companies as much money over the long term as gasoline-powered cars.

The film also describes the history of automaker efforts to destroy competing technologies, such as their destruction through front companies of public transit systems in the United States in the early 20th century. It also, in one interview, mentions that automakers introduced important safety and emissions innovations including seat belts, airbags and catalytic converters only when forced by government legislation. "

California Air Resources Board

"The CARB, headed by Alan Lloyd, caved to industry pressure and repealed the ZEV mandate. Lloyd was given the directorship of the new fuel cell institute, creating an inherent conflict of interest. Footage shot in the meetings showed how he shut down the ZEV proponents while giving the car makers all the time they wanted to make their points. "

I'll have more on this story soon, but this is just the barest of facts on how we've all been denied access to clean, efficient car ownership.

FE Truth Goes After Tom Bearden Interview

Friday, November 9, 2007

We recently attempted to secure an interview with Col Tom Bearden in order to ask him particular questions relating to his thoughts on Steorn and free energy. We were informed that Tom no longer does interviews and that he communicates his views mainly through his website http://www.cheniere.org/

While disappointed at not being able to speak to Tom directly, we wish him all the best. In the meantime we were directed to some of his previous thoughts on Steorn which he has previously published. Interesting reading.
Pictured above is one of Tom's best selling books.

Exclusive: Sean McCarthy (Steorn) Interview

Friday, October 26, 2007

Sean McCarthy (CEO of Steorn)

FE Truth: Sean McCarthy CEO of Steorn is with us today. Welcome Sean! Well, it’s not exactly Letterman, but perhaps we can ask a few searching questions of you nonetheless.

Sean: Hi Craig.

FE Truth: It’s now well over a year since the Economist ad which is when most people started following the Steorn story. Back in August 2006 the conspiracy theories were rife. Steorn are obviously still here, and no one has done a runner to the Bahamas with any money. You weren’t an advert for the new Halo game, you weren’t a viral marketing campaign and your offices aren’t a front for the CIA.

That just leaves two possibilities. Measurement error, or you truly have the ability to create / extract free energy, what do you say to people that say measurement error is an explanation for all this?

Sean: I don’t think measurement error is a viable explanation at all. There’s a substantial difference between devices that work that aren’t subject to measurement error and devices that are simply lab based measurements. The new theory seems to be that we’re either right or we’re delusional. Clearly, most people think that we’re delusional.

FE Truth: Can you tell us anything about the 22 jury, has their reaction been what you expected? Will the way the jury goes about validation and the testing they carry out be made public after the process is complete.

Sean: We won’t be discussing the Jury process in public at all until it’s completed.

FE Truth: You’re very enthusiastic when it comes to talking tech. Where did you’re love of engineering and technology come from and what’s your proudest engineering moment?

Sean: I grew up in the age where computers were becoming commonplace. At the age of ten I had a computer in my house and I found this and all technology fascinating. The Engineering school I went to was very hands on, very lab based as well as theoretical so I developed a real love of both technology and engineering. I guess the proudest moment for me and for the company from a technology standpoint was the development of the DiscMatch system which some of the world’s largest companies had tried to develop with tens of millions of dollars over a seven year time frame and failed. We did this project for 160k in 18 months, that was cool.

FE Truth: As ever, you’ve been extremely busy. What sort of stuff have you been working on in the last few months? Anything that you can tell us about?

Sean: We continue to work on Orbo. Obviously we are looking at different implementations of it, more reliable implementations of it both mechanical and non mechanical. We’re also looking at the material science behind these time variant magnetic transactions as in what’s the real driver for them. What makes one material have a different response from another material? We’ve looked at a lot of third party research, fund some research and obviously do our own research into this area, we have managed to rule out most of the drivers to time based domain response (eddy currents, heat and so on) but as to why ferrite has a different response to Iron – well more work to be done.

FE Truth: Previously you mentioned that a second demo will occur and that it would not
be announced, it would just "happen" when you’ve got it up and running. Are you at liberty to announce which country or city the demo will be located ?

Sean: It will most likely be in Dublin, Ireland.

FE Truth: Assuming the jury of 22 scientists returns a positive result on Orbo’s ability to create / extract free energy, do you think the scientific community will accept the jury verdict and embrace the new discovery or do you expect there will still be yet another fight for acceptance? What do you anticipate will be the reaction?

Sean: I don’t think there will be a defining moment to be honest. I don’t feel that any form of validation, be it public demo or validation by a third parties, will be seen as a full stop to the process. I think it will certainly raise awareness and more people will research it but there’s not going to be a defining moment in terms of accepting something so fundamental. All we can hope is that the scientific community will engage further and further into this once they have a credible frame of reference.

FE Truth: Since discovering the anomaly that led to the development of Orbo technology, have you observed any other interesting phenomena, bi-products, or effects during testing.

Sean: We continue to discover interesting things. Apart from the pure mathematics behind magnetic interactions which, if anybody researches into them, are in themselves a contested area, (in that there’s no real one mathematical model that will describe any magnetic transaction in 100% reliable fashion), we are also looking at the Newtonian dynamics behind these things. There’s a lot of interesting stuff. Our concern as a company is not to get sidetracked too much but as engineers we do find interesting stuff and do tend to get sucked into a couple of weeks testing which are necessary and in the nature of the company and how we ended up here but are probably not that pertinent to developing Orbo.

FE Truth: Have you any plans to release an educational pack to schools / colleges, perhaps including a kit-based DIY Orbo for students to mess around and learn from?

Sean: Part of what we are looking at with the e-learning stuff which is in development, involves stress testing some of the modules with different communities, from secondary school students to university students and also looking at how we can attract these people post validation to come in and gain an interest in it. Whether DIY Orbo kits are truly a realistic objective is unclear because the types of manufacturing tolerances required are very high but I would imagine we will be releasing a lot of the e-learning modules behind this into wider audiences.

FE Truth: What exactly is SteornLab - Can you give us any information on this?

Sean: An awful lot of what we have developed over the years has been based on tests. We have bought in a lot of the best of breed test equipment to measure rotary systems and magnetic fields but it’s still a relatively specialized field. We have developed and have patented several testing technologies, specifically non-contact torque sensors and dynamic field measurement equipment to measure magnetic fields in very fast environments. SteornLab relates to the productization of these testing technologies we’ve developed over the years.

FE Truth: Surely politicians would be interested in the technology for lots of reasons.
Has Steorn ever been contacted by anyone in political positions?

Sean: We’ve been contacted by everybody from humanitarian groups to top range politicians, however we have taken the same position with all of them. We are not engaging with the political community or the industrial community until after validation.

FE Truth: Can you give us any news on Steorn’s African water pump project?

Sean: It’s an ongoing project. We have contracted a local engineering company to conduct water surveys and to design a one-fits-all water pump, (i.e. a water pumping system that can be used in multiple sites in Kenya) that work is ongoing, they haven’t finalized their work. Effectively what we will be providing them is the power to drive this system.

FE Truth: "In your opinion does Orbo create or extract energy?"

Sean: It’s a question of views. I would say that, in the same way as there is a mass/energy equivalent there is also a form of time/energy equivalent and whether you consider that energy creation or conversion is a matter of semantics. The explanation behind Orbo is that ÄT can equal E as simple as that.

FE Truth: Has Steorn ever been offered money in order to sell the patents, black shelve them or to suppress the technology in any way? Can any amount of money prevent the technology getting to market now?

Sean: No. We have been offered lots of money but none of that to hide the technology or suppress it. To be honest, none of those conversations get beyond the cursory level simply because we’re not in the business of raising money. No amount of money can prevent the technology getting to market. It does not take a huge amount of money to drive us, or any small business to the wall, but if Steorn was taken out this would not prevent the tech getting out.

FE Truth: What sort of a fight do you expect that the energy / oil / mining companies will put up to stop Orbo from impacting their business?

Sean: Unfair would be the straight answer. I’m from that industry and they’re not fair fights… but I’m looking forward to them.

FE Truth: Presumably after successful validation there will be an avalanche of interest and the company will have to grow significantly to cope with worldwide demand for support? How does the company plan to cope with the workload? Are we likely to see, offices of Steorn springing up in the US, Europe and Far East? or will the support and licensing be done via eCommerce only?

Sean: It will be by eCommerce only. The reality of what we’ve bitten off here is that we couldn’t afford to grow the company to a scale pre-launch that could deal with the expected demand and we can’t do it after the fact. So we’ve designed our business model around who we are, which is roughly twenty people in a building in Dublin. Who knows what size Steorn will grow to ultimately as requirements change, but in terms of immediately post launch we don’t see any specific requirement for adding headcount.

We are already looking at some acquisitions but these are in the very early stages and would be pretty small companies themselves.

FE Truth: Since all this kicked off in August 2006 what has been you’re biggest disappointment?

Sean: July 2007

FE Truth: Have you had any licensing enquiries from interested companies since you went public in August 2006?

Sean: Every day of every week.

FE Truth: What’s Steorn’s position on the licensing of the tech for possible military and
weapons applications?

Sean: It’s specifically precluded.

FE Truth: How many patents do Steorn hold in relation to Orbo technology?

Sean: In the region of 15 – 20 applications

FE Truth: You are a technology development company, so what’s the next technology project for Steorn after Orbo?

Sean: Steorn will have to see this through but a lot of the developers in here came from an anti fraud background and we have some really cool ideas in that area. Who knows? There’s always another dream to chase.

FE Truth: You mentioned before that people’s reaction to this is almost a religious reaction. Why do you think there’s such hostility to what is essentially a planet and life saving technology?

Sean: It’s difficult to understand. I think an awful lot of it is the nature of the internet. Since being introduced to the forum life I’ve seen people have religious arguments over the colour of a footballers shirt. The internet seems to give people the right to debate things religiously. When you talk about taking on a scientific establishment which is very much how we cast ourselves, we came out fighting so you could say we provoked a response but that having been said we are questioning a fundamental assumption of the world of physics and I think that the world of physics is religious in its attitude to these things and probably rightly so.

FE Truth: Are there any future R&D plans for Steorn to go after solid state Orbo systems or advance Orbo technology even further?

Sean: We have some engineering issues that we are currently resolving in terms of mechanical systems; we are constantly looking at ways to capture and express the energy in a real world environment that are simpler and simpler and there is nothing simpler than a solid state device. So it’s in the plan, but its not something that we actively engaged in at this time.

FE Truth: CoE largely depends on Noether’s Theorem holding up to scrutiny.

Noether’s Theorem relies on time invariance in an energy transaction to hold true whereas Orbo technology involves time-variant principles. If Noether’s Theorem can be shown to not apply in this case, what does this mean for the world of physics? What sort of knock-on effects do you think we can expect?

Sean: Ultimately CoE is a catch-all. E=mc2 was, for a time seen as a violation of CoE - it was very quickly dealt with by saying that mass is a form of energy. I do believe that the further we dig into this and the smarter the people we get involved, that variations in time frames could be viewed as a form of energy and you could tidy the equations up that way.

FE Truth: If the effect is time-variant, then presumably time would be shown to be a function of energy? This would have massive implications. What are your thoughts on this?

Sean: It’s not a question that time is a form of energy. In any thermodynamics equation you will see ÄT as a factor and what we’re playing around with is ÄT. I think it may not be that much of a job to tidy this little mess up from a physics point of view.

FE Truth: I know I’m asking you to try and be psychic here, but if your timeline of validation goes to schedule and electronics /engineering companies start licensing orbo technology for development in their own products, how soon should the public expect to see orbo powered consumer products on sale?

FE Truth: Do you think any other company has ever came close to discovering what Steorn did?

Sean: I think lots of people have. I can look at many of the other free energy claimants and understand exactly how they could work. I could also see why many would be difficult to replicate without understanding what was happening.

FE Truth: Ever got into a fist fight over Orbo?

Sean: I’ve never been in a fist fight.

FE Truth: You’re a Birmingham City fan, so once you’ve become even richer than Bill Gates, presumably you’ll be buying Birmingham City Football Club and turning them into the new Chelsea?

Sean: Some things are impossible!!!!!!

FE Truth: Sean McCarthy, thank-you very much for taking time to speak to us today. We wish you well for the future!

Steorn: Free Energy Truth Editorial Comment

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Simply mention the slightest possibility of free energy or perpetual motion and guaranteed, you’ll have a room full of fully grown adults smirking like hyperactive toddlers at a McDonalds Birthday Party. However, it’s that kind of over-the-top hysterical laughter that has more emotion grounded in fear rather than in amusement.

What are people so afraid of? Why does the notion of free energy have this bizarre effect on some individuals and some of the media – are we THAT conditioned to believe the media? Surely clean drinking water, sanitation, and an end to global warming, food shortages and reliance on fossil fuel are good things – or have I missed something?

Globally we have almost certainly reached peak oil and are on a slippery downward slope. The only way forward now for every single one of us is rising petrol prices, freak weather, followed by an outbreak of oil wars to control the supply from middle eastern tin-pot dictatorships ensuring a constant stream of supertankers feeding our addiction.

Demand is going through the roof and production is in steady decline. You do the math.

Meanwhile over in China and India, they can’t build coal and gas burning power stations fast enough. We look on in horror as the Arctic Ice melts like an ice-cube in a frying pan.

More recently, reported in The Telegraph and The Daily Mail we have new stories surfacing of more law defying energy creation. A team of scientists reviewed the EcoWatts technology and agreed they could not account for the energy being created by this system. Scientists. Actual scientists, with proper white lab coats, large craniums and PHDs coming out of their ears, yet this evidence has been largely ignored.

In true debunking style online publication Engadget have a picture with a cartoon speech bubble superimposed which rather unconvincingly dictates to their readers the way to think. Thou shalt ridicule free energy! One of the 12 JP Morgan commandments no doubt.

Rather than conducting an objective review of the technology, they chose the all too familiar and sadly predictable stance of giggling in the corner like a spoilt brat. Even “The Daily Mail” gets the full treatment unleashed on it with the statement that they are “dumb” for publishing the story. By implication the Telegraph must be dumb also as they have also featured the story. Sure are a lot of dumb people out there, must be all the carbon monoxide from the burnt oil?

What the debunking community would do well to remember is that It would not be the first time that science was proved wrong and it certainly won’t be the last. Egg on face can be hard to shift, even with the best of soap scrubs. I hear the Flat Earth Society are still cleaning themselves up even now.

Reality is that we’ve had free energy since the time of Tesla, but greedy white men seen to it that his equipment was confiscated and that he was ridiculed into submission. You see, the problem with free energy is that you can’t stick a meter on it and start sending invoices to people – it just doesn’t work. Who do they TAX – God?, The Supreme Being?, Zero Point Inc?

Used to be that no-one questioned the laws of thermodynamics, but now it seems we’ve got new technologies springing up all the time. The laws of thermodynamics are under siege – how long now until they need to be dismantled brick by thermodynamic brick like the some virtual Berlin wall.

If the laws of thermodynamics are comparable to football teams, where once stood the mighty Brazil – now stands The People’s Republic of Moldova. It’s only half time and they’re losing 12-0.

We all need to get over our fit of the giggles when it comes to free energy. If we don’t then the laughs, the McDonalds ice-cream and the smirking will surely stop when the oil wars, fuel shortages and rising floodwaters begin.

Respected Engineer Validates Steorn Tech

Wednesday, September 5, 2007

“Then I saw things that I didn’t believe”. Thieu Knapen

A recently leaked 2 minute film has turned up on Google. It further validates the free energy claims of Steorn. In the video we see accomplished engineer and inventor Thieu Knapen, CEO of Dutch company Kinetron discussing Steorn's Orbo technology, which he has personally tested in his own workshop facility.

His conclusions are clear: “We see a gain in energy”.

“I did the first measurement and did it on the Friday evening. Tried to measure things and I had a few magnets lying over here, as I’ve worked for 25 years with magnets, and I was surprised.”

“Then I stopped on the Sunday evening and I was more surprised. Then I saw things that I didn’t believe.”

“And that was my first trigger to say “Hey, maybe we forget something in the past and Steorn have found the trick to do it”.

“What we see is free energy mainly – to make energy out of nothing - so I thought this is not possible for the normal human being, but the idea of Steorn was they came with a very special idea to bring in magnets in a certain way and it was very new for me as well.”

“And even from the data we have and the measurments we did we see that we gain energy, and now mainly the principle is to get it into a working model.”

Speaking about the prototype device pictured on his workbench he is clearly heard to say

“It’s already a miracle”

He goes on – “This is just the beginning…..I’m sure of it”.

World Exclusive Interview: Steorn Effect Replicated / Blake Interview

Friday, August 31, 2007

As promised......

Today we talk to Blake. A Vietnam veteran and ex US air force pilot with a fascinating technical background. A skilled engineer with decades of experience in the air force and aviation industry.

An independent builder, in his own workshop, using his own tools and materials, has become the first known non-Steorn employee or contractor to successfully re-create the time-variant free energy principles of Steorn's Orbo technology.

Please note: Due to Legal Non Disclosure Agreements certain aspects of the technical information have been replaced by asterisks where necessary.

FE Truth: "Firstly Blake, tell us about your background."

Blake: "Born on a plane between London and Baltimore (my dad installed the first Coca-Cola bottling plant in London). Birthplace listed as Baltimore. Moved to Western Maryland at age 2, then to Florida at age 7-8. Started working at the airport in Jacksonville at age 12.

"Then home to many different jobs until 1971 when I moved to Georgia and worked for Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic. Then transferred to Electronics Division to work as electronic trouble shooter. Forced to retire in 1978 and then opened my own woodworking shop in Perry GA. "

"Closed the shop 86 and worked as supervisor for many companies until Northrop Grumman hired me to do aircraft sheet metal in 1997 - been there every since. Graduated to tool design engineer and methods engineer in Dallas, Texas then transferred back to my first love (my tool box) in Stuart Florida, where I currently reside. "

"Will move again in December back to my beloved Georgia and my children and friends."

FE Truth: "How did you become interested in the whole Steorn / Steorn Private Developers Club thing?"

Blake: "Last year in August around the 17th or 18th I saw a wee bit on energy on Fox news and I clicked on it and that brought me to Steorn. According to the register shown on the screen I was #60 to register."

FE Truth: "As I understand it, with the combination of technical knowledge gained in the SPDC and your own engineering ability you set to work on building a testrig to try and replicate the free energy "Steorn Effect". Without going into any technical secrets tell us about how you built your own Orbo test rig?"

Blake: "Having wood and metal working skills and trying to decipher the dialogue on the main forum, I set about to try my hand at duplicating the Steorn discovery. I built many rigs, testing theories, and did not even come close until Sean (Steorn CEO) posted a diagram and then I started to work in earnest."

"My wife was away visiting her mother and I came home from work and started to assemble a rig like Sean's diagram. Started with a ***** base then added a hang arm for ******* support, then used a ******* magnet to wind an ******* magnet for the *****. Then follow my sense of feel I tried placing magnets near, ************ and at many ******* angles until I felt something unusual and noticed that the spin down was not slowing down much from my original spindown."

"Then I hot melt glued the ****** in place while holding it with my hand. Then I went on to work on my model airplanes which were due out that weekend. "

FE Truth: "Talk us through the sequence of events that night."

Blake: "After I hot melted the ******* in place I used the dremel tool to spin it up to abound *** thousand rpms and I usually got around ** and a half minutes sometime almost *** on the spin down. "

"I waited almost 5 minutes and it still kept going and I thought maybe I got an off center balance that is keeping it going like a flywheel so I quit watching it and went back to work on a model plane - all the while keeping an eye on the rig. "

"It was late and I knew I had to work the next day so taking a final look at the running rig. I went to bed...it was still running when I woke up and when I left for work. When I got home the first thing I did was to go look at the rig. "

"My heart really fell when I saw it stopped".

FE Truth: "How long did it self-sustain for in the end?"

Blake: "I can only vouch for about 8 hours, I do not know how long it ran after I left for work".

FE Truth: So basically it ran on it's own with no external input for at least 8 hours and possibly way more than that?

FE Truth: "When you finally realized it was self sustaining and kept spinning on its own what was going through your mind?"

Blake: "I kept wondering when it was going to stop and then when it did not...I thought...damn I got to go pee!"

FE Truth: (Laughs)

FE Truth: "In your opinion, is this something that most people could build?"

Blake: "I think that the rig I built can be built by most anybody given the right materials and tools".

FE Truth: "Now that you've witnessed a self-sustaining device how do you feel now about Steorn as to whether they are telling the truth?"

Blake: "Well, I know the rig can run on it's own. So I believe what they say is possible and that they are probably telling us the truth but holding back important details till all the patents are in and the jury reports."

FE Truth: "What do you say to people who may accuse you of making this up?"

Blake: "You are entitled to your own opinion, I have nothing to gain by making up stories. However I intend to keep trying to replicate the run to quell the naysayers. Until then it is just my word against the odds."

FE Truth: "So that would make you one of only a handful of people in the world who has seen the fact with their own eyes that free energy can be tapped using certain configurations of magnets.”

FE Truth: "I assume you're trying to get it going again or to build an improved prototype rig?"

Blake: "Yes, I have been trying ever since it stopped and will keep trying till it runs again. I have no real idea what made it run but only feel that the way to make it go is simple, I just happened to have the right conditions at the time.”

“It will run again. The next time it runs I will have the means to record it at hand.”

‘Never, never, never give up. Some folks say I am stubborn, other say I am dedicated, still others say I am crazy, me - I just want to make it run and scale it down so I don't have to use batteries in my model airplanes."

FE Truth: "Do you have any personal theories on where this energy may be coming from?"

Blake: "For what it’s worth, I believe that we will find that magnetism has a frequency and that the frequency is present everywhere in the universe. I believe the force which we are converting to energy comes from that."

FE Truth: "In a sentence, do you think that the possibility now exists to end our reliance on oil, coal, gas and nuclear power given Steorn's Orbo technology?"

Blake: "I believe it has always existed and that we are just now re-discovering it. "

"I think the ancients had more real intellect of physics and nature than we do today. And if I did not believe that Steorn had found a path to this science then I would not belong to the SPDC. At least having hope in them is better then no hope. For without dreams we
stagnate and die."

FE Truth: "Congratulations on your amazing achievement Blake, and many thanks for sharing your remarkable story."

Ends.

Impending World Oil Shortage: Good Timing Steorn

Thursday, August 23, 2007

If ever the time was right for Steorn's Orbo technology to come along, then it's now. World oil production is on the downward slope, yet demands especially from developing countries like China and India are increasing rapidly.

"This much is certain: no initiative put in place starting today can have a substantial effect on the peak production year. No Caspian Sea exploration, no drilling in the South China Sea, no SUV replacements, no renewable energy projects can be brought on at a sufficient rate to avoid a bidding war for the remaining oil. At least, let's just hope that the war is waged with cash instead of with nuclear warheads."

Happy Birthday Steorn!: 1 Year Since "The Economist" Ad

Friday, August 17, 2007

It's one year today since Steorn's Full page advertisement in "The Economist" magazine. What has been achieved since then you may ask?

Well with such a bold claim as free energy, the biggest battle to be fought was always going to be convincing people it was real and that Steorn was not a scam or a viral marketing ploy. The hardest people to convince and the most important people we must convince are the scientists and engineers who live by the rules and laws of Conservation of Energy (CoE).

CoE has always held firm, but in this case I am priveleged to say that with Steorn's Time Variant Magneto Mechanical Interactions, CoE does not seem to apply.

3 years of trying to get acceptance failed, due to the reluctance of any scientist to even look seriously for more than a few minutes at the technology. Such is the world of science that even looking at the tech would lower you in the esteem of fellow peers. A very backwards attitude to new discoveries is obviously still present in modern day scientific attitudes.

After 3 years Steorn decided enough was enough and issued the challenge. It was a massive success and in the end they got 22 of the best from the world of science to put Orbo technology through rigorous and demanding tests. The work of the scientists began 6 months ago and is ongoing at present with an announcement expected early next year.

Also, 1 year on the SPDC Steorn Private Developers Club is well under way and is proving to be a very valuable tool in the proving of the claims. Although the work is under NDA there have been some notable successes, as quoted in the Steorn public forum with one SPDC member getting a home replication to self sustain for 8 hours!!

Low point of the year was the Kinetica demo, but with the promise of a second public demo looming, Kinetica is now firmly in the past.

So happy birthday Steorn and may the next year be the defining moment in world history.

New Metro Article On Steorn

Thursday, August 16, 2007

The article, written by Mark Harris is featured in Metro and is a few weeks late in publishing. It covers the events of the Kinetica Demo and gives a "too brief to be brief" synopsis on the Steorn story so far.
The opening paragraph begins with infantile references to Captain Kirk and Scotty, so already we know the editorial spin and dirtection Metro want to take it's readers on.
Next it's a chance to dwell on the Kinetica demo and how bearing failure caused a premature end to the public demo. As I read I was thinking to myself - "When will they wheel out the token physicist who disagrees with the claims"?.

Then in the next paragraph my expectations were not disappointed. Dr Claudia Eberlein (who?) informs us that "there has been a mistake" and "any physicist will tell you that you have to have Conservation of Energy".
Then we had another token homage paid to Cold Fusion by Eberlain which she dismisses out of hand (despite the US navy's ongoing interest in cold fusion). Maybe she doesn't read newpapers herself?

Despite Steorn engaging 22 of the worlds best physicists in a "prove it or not" jury, it is not given any airtime or proper discussion by Metro despite the fact that this is crucial to the unfolding process of validation and critical to the reader's understanding of Steorn's seriousness.
As a last throw of the debunking dice, we are treated to another winner from those insightful people at Metro. The last paragraph states "maybe Orbo does work and the London demo was sabotaged by big oil".
Although I have absolutely no doubt that the energy industry has bought off patents and inventors over the years, I'm afraid that big oil or the men in black had nothing to do with the failure of the bearings at Kinetica.
'm not even going to mention that the picture they used a picture of a Sean and a test rig from last year and that Orbo (displayed at Kinetica) is nowhere to be seen despite many references to it. It seems Metro's picture editor is also hard up for time.
The article's only saving grace is that it ends quickly, leaving Dr Eberlain to get back to her day-job and Metro to resume writing on their core subjects - A story about a cat being rescued out of a tree or a dog that can skateboard or something etc etc...

Jeez!!

Steorn Jury Update: Good Circumstantial Evidence

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Forum member "Crank" said yesterday:

"The way I'd look at it is...I was shown the names of two jury members. At any time over the past six months if Sean pissed me off sufficiently (and Sean is good at pissing me and everyone else off ) I could have phoned those scientists and asked them if they really were on the Steorn jury.

If they weren't, they could and would have publicly disassociated themselves from the Irish crackpots who were using their name in vain. So if it was a house of cards, it would all have come tumbling down over quite a simple thing.

Therefore...the names he gave me had to be genuine. Therefore...there is a jury. Therefore...anything Sean has stated publicly about the jury has to be real, or jury members would be kicking up a fuss."

--------------------------------------------

I have to agree with Crank on this one since Crank could have easily proved the non-existence of a jury by a simple phone call. Steorn have indeed been upfront about the jury and it is now only the more heavily skeptical people who would dispute this now.

Also today, the forums were opened up again and you no longer need a login to read the posts.

Due to a small number of troll posters the Steorn Public Forum now requires a login to view any content. Good news is that If you are a serious user then you will still be able to register and post your thoughts.

The trolling of the Steorn Forum has went on for way too long and I commend the actions of the moderators. The personal insults and in some cases libellous statements from a small minority of posters has become too much.

I recommend that the serious posters with a genuine interest proceed as normal and let the trolls scurry off to their burrows.

Steorn Orbo Demo 2 - What's Happening?

Friday, August 10, 2007

Some weeks ago we told you that the the original camera feed URLs had been re-activated. Since then, they have remained the same - displaying a live "holding page cam" view of Big Ben and The London Eye.

Why would AStream (the webcam company) resurrect the feeds for no apparent reason? After the Kinetica demo the pages were completely removed and all anyone got was a "page not found" error. Now and for the last 3-4 weeks they've been re-instated, all be it, without a spinning Orbo yet.

When Steorn get round to doing demo number 2 I would expect them to use AStream again, so it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on those cams every now and then. Sean has said in recent interviews that they'll be doing another demo in the near future - that was weeks ago now.

I would expect this to occur by the end of the year, maybe even much sooner. There is some speculation from the forums on an August 17th- 18th date, but it is largely without substance.

We await with interest...

Flaws in Classical EM Theory: Orbo May Exploit

Thursday, August 9, 2007

Flaws in Classical EM Theory
(Maxwell's Theory is 136 years old, and has been severely mutilated)

Anyone who says Orbo couldn't possibly work and quotes you Maxwell's Equations as a reason to debunk them should read the following. Maxwells's Equations since their first concept have been battered, mutilated, key concepts left out and generally bashed around and made to fit nicely. Except they don't fit nicely - see below:

1. Eliminates the Internal EM Inside the Scalar Potential.

2. No Definition of Electrical Charge or of Scalar Potential.

3. Equations Still Assume Material Ether Per Maxwell (Unchanged).

4. Use of Force Fields in Vacuum is False (and Known to be So).

5. Treats Charge q as Unitary Instead of Coupled System q=ø(q)m(q).

6. Confuses Massless Potential Gradients as Forces (See #3, #4).

7. Does Not Utilize Mass as a Component of Force (See #23).

8. Erroneously Assumes EM Force Field as Primary Causes.

9. Topology of EM Model Has Been Substantially Reduced.

10. Does Not Include Quantum Potential or Action at a Distance.

11. Does Not Include Superluminal Velocity of Inner EM Components.

12. Does Not Utilize Extended Near-Field Coulomb Gauge Effects.

13. Does Not Include EM Generatrix Mechanism For Time Flow.

14. Does Not Unify Photon and Wave Aspects (Requires 7-D Model).

15. Does Not Include Electron Spin and Precession (See #19, #24).

16. Treats EM Energy As Existing in "Chunks," Instead of as Flow.

17. Confuses Energy and Energy Collection (See #16).

18. Discards Half of Every EM Wave in Vacuum (See #22).

19. Erroneously Uses Transverse Vacuum Wave; It's Quasi-Longitudinal.

20. Arbitrarily Regauges Maxwell's Equations to Eliminate Overunity Maxwellian Systems.

21. Omits Phase Conjugate Optics Effects (Which are the Rule in Internal EM).

22. Does Not Include EM Cause of Newtonian Reaction Force.

23. Erroneously Assumes Separate Force Acting on Separate Mass.

24. Confuses Detected Electron Precession Waves as Proving Transverse EM Waves in Vacuum (Remnant of Old "EM Fluid" Concept).

25. Due to Error in String Wave, Omits the Ubiquitous Antiwave.

26. Assumes Equilibrium; Not True Unless Include Vacuum Interactions.

27. Higher Toplogy Required, to Model Electromagnetic Reality.

28. Lorentz surface integration discards Poynting energy transport.29. Has nothing at all to say about form of EM entities in massless space.

30. Eliminates the infolded general relativity using EM-force as curve agent.

31. Does not include longitudinal EM wave phase conjugate pairs as time domain oscillations.

32. Does not include EM mechanism that generates time flow and flow rate.

33. Does not include time-excitation charging and decay.

34. Does not include time-reversal zones.

Steorn Power Source: Zero-Point Energy?

Wednesday, August 8, 2007

One of the most likely power sources for the free-energy claims of Steorn is that of the zero-point field or (vacuum energy). An already established scientific phenomena. The zero-point energy can be described as the following excerpt from Wikipedia:

In physics, the zero-point energy is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical physical system may possess and is the energy of the ground state of the system.

The concept of zero-point energy was proposed by Albert Einstein and Otto Stern in 1913, which they called "zero-point energy" (German: Nullpunktsenergie). All quantum mechanical systems have a zero point energy.

The term arises commonly in reference to the ground state of the quantum harmonic oscillator and its null oscillations. In quantum field theory, it is a synonym for the vacuum energy, an amount of energy associated with the vacuum of empty space.

In cosmology, the vacuum energy is taken to be the origin of the cosmological constant. Experimentally, the zero-point energy of the vacuum leads directly to the Casimir effect, and is directly observable in nanoscale devices.

Because zero point energy is the lowest possible energy a system can have, this energy cannot be removed from the system. A related term is zero-point field, which is the lowest energy state of a field, i.e. its ground state, which is non zero.

Despite the definition, the concept of zero-point energy, and the hint of a possibility of extracting "free energy" from the vacuum, has attracted the attention of amateur inventors. Numerous perpetual motion and other pseudoscientific devices, often called free energy devices, exploiting the idea, have been proposed. As a result of this activity, and its intriguing theoretical explanation, it has taken on a life of its own in popular culture, appearing in science fiction books, games and movies.

Steorn: A Custard Pie In The Face Of Science

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

Arthur C Clarke once said: Every revolutionary idea seems to evoke three stages of reaction. They may be summed up by the phrases:

(1) It's completely impossible.
(2) It's possible, but it's not worth doing.
(3) I said it was a good idea all along.
----------------------------------------

It's only a matter of time now until point number 3 is fulfilled. Since the whole Steorn public campaign started back in August 2006 we've seen, one after another, scientists being wheeled out by the media to debunk Steorn's claims. Every one of them citing the history of perpetual motion and how no-one has yet achieved it, relying on the fact we haven't done it yet as some sort of proof that it is impossible.

Well I've got news for them. We once thought the world was flat. We once looked at the stars and worshipped the gods - now we travel among the stars ourselves. Science need only look at how far we have came and should stop before it puts it's pompus foot in it's mouth once again.

I'll end on another appropriate quote from the great man himself:

Clarke's First Law: When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.

Arthur C Clarke.

Steorn - Engadget Interview "Demo Plans"

Thursday, August 2, 2007

Just to recap, here's what Sean McCarthy (CEO of Steorn) said recently in regard for their plans for a second successful demonstration of Orbo Free Energy Technology.

Sean: "What we've decided to do this time, is rather then beating ourselves with a stick, we're going to get it running in a location and then we are going to announce that people can watch it online. So we are actually physically getting it operating, it will be the same.

The principle behind London, which was clearly a failed demo, was that it wasn't for for a sequence of webcams to people to watch, but it was equally physical, so that people could go there. We put in some PCs so they could chat about it and so on. So the principle will be identical, that it's both a physical location where people can go view it.

Obviously not everybody can do that, so people can watch it online and chat directly with people there and discuss theories of where batteries might be hidden and so and so on. It's a deferral, we have decided that we will only announce it when it's actually live and in place this time which is a mistake that we made last time. We should have done that but didn't."

Steorn: The Defiance Of Science Continues

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

Critical media stories of the failed Kinetica demo were rather intriguingly posted by Steorn themselves on the News Coverage part of their website. In a fascinating show of defiance they have listed all the bad press reports from the failed Kinetica demo where bearing failure due to thermal expansion put an end to the demo prematurely.

If one were speculating you might say Steorn are having some fun with their critics and when validated by the jury the negative press might come back and bite some of the negative press writers on the ass. From here it certainly looks like the skeptics are being set up for a fall of epic proportions.

Steorn Demo Rerun: It's Too Quiet

Friday, July 27, 2007

Since the webcams have been reactivated several days ago we've been treated to a 24hrs a day live stream of Big Ben and The London Eye, but still no sign of Orbo yet.

It's been spectacularly quiet on all fronts recently and that fact coupled with the reactivating of the cameras makes me think that demo No2 is not far away. Of course I could be wrong about this, but then again what If I'm not?

Steorn: Engadget Interview Highlights

Friday, July 20, 2007

On Orbo Power Output...

Engadget: So that's the company, let's talk a little bit more about the technology that you guys have supposedly developed here. Laws of thermodynamics basically state that you can't achieve 100% efficiency in any apparatus and that there are always transfers of heat and energy in any system. But obviously you guys are claiming 100%+ efficiency. Do you have a statistic or number of what you estimate the energy efficiency level of your machine is? Is it 110% or 150%?

Sean: It varies from configuration to configuration. I think the largest efficiency that we would have physically measured would be about 485%. These numbers can be misleading. For example we might be getting 485% per joule, which means were getting 4.85 J out, but there could be a configuration that's could be delivering 130% efficiency yet delivering 10 joules. So, the technology itself is pretty well researched in terms of punch line efficiency it's 485%, but that wouldn't be the optimum output of the system. Obviously we're more focused on direct power output of a device than the punchline numbers. 485 to 1 is 4.85, but we could easily say, 10 to 12 joules off of a system is going to have a lower punch line efficiency. And power output is obviously the key factor, energy output is obviously the key factor.

On The jury...

Engadget: I understand that some 5,000 scientists applied to be a part of this.

Sean: No, we had 5,000 total applicants. It was an online thing. So when you rule out the Bart Simpsons who had applied we had 1,000 qualified people, of which about 500 who would be qualified scientists, and 500 qualified engineers. And so how many people have actually accepted this challenge and are currently working on this? We've signed contracts with 22 of them. There is a copy of the contract on the website, and 22 of them are involved in an analysis of the technology.

On the failed demo...

Engadget: I'd like to know why you think it failed -- and not the reasons that you've already given. We've definitively heard that it was ball bearings, or it was mechanical failure, it was the heat from the lights. We heard all that. We know. I want to know why you think it failed, in the sense that why did the other two backups that you guys brought not work? Or why were you not able to relocate the demo to another location that didn't have these issues? Or why was it not thoroughly tested enough, and so on...

Sean: I'm not going to tell you anything that if you have read some of this stuff that you haven't heard. The simple fact of the matter, just to state, is that this is not production technology and so you know anybody who works in the prototype world will understand that there are always issues. But with respects to what happened, we brought three systems to us from Dublin, three component systems, we don't move them in their operational way, we stripped them down.

They are very, very simple and there is not huge configuration to them, but they are very sensitive configurations because there are lots of magnetic loads and so on. We got one of the systems working on the Tuesday night which was the Tuesday before we were going live on Wednesday evening. We started to install that in the demo case and began to notice problems. It wasn't working. That being the prime problem.

We then took the classic engineering process of stripping it down and testing, testing, testing, and what we found was that in that prototype was that the bearings, while not visibly damaged but the friction had more than quadrupled in them, which would have been a killer in a this type of system that we were planning to show. And under pressure we just kept plugging in all the spare bearings we had. Now, these are not standard bearings you might buy from your local hardware store.

These are very, very low friction bearings used in the watch industry. Our analysis of what happened is that the heat allowed play in the system that damaged the bearings to the point where the extra friction in the bearings didn't allow the technology to happen. Whether people believe that or don't believe it, there isn't a lot that I can say other then that's what happened.

On the new demo...

Engadget: So do you have a time-frame that you're looking at for the next demo?

Sean: What we've decided to do this time, is rather then beating ourselves with a stick, we're going to get it running in a location and then we are going to announce that people can watch it online.

We should have done that but didn't.

On convincing a sceptical public...

Engadget: So what happens if you can't prove this supposed technology? If you can't figure out a way to convince people.

Sean: But we have. We have. There are lots of tactical things that we'll be doing, such as demos -- and obviously we'll have to respond to the failure of that demo and probably do more than we've intended to. We're a small company and maybe we're slightly overstretched in doing it, but we have to do it. But the jury process is happening, they will have to report -- they will either have to say yay or nay. Ok, so you can say how long will it take? I don't know.

But the point of the matter is that there will be an end to the process and an answer will be provided. Now that answer, if it's what we think it will be, will obviously raise more criticism and so and so on. But we've got lots of other things that we are doing to address that. There is going to be no defining moment in my opinion where people go, "It's true!" Even if these 22 scientists -- who are really top scientists -- turn around and say, "By Jove they've done it!". We as a company will still have to drive that message home in other ways.

New Steorn Orbo Demo: When will that be?

At the moment there are no definite dates for a new public demo of Orbo, but according to Steorn they will re-schedule a demo at a later date. It's anyone's guess when that will be, but it looks more than a few weeks away at least as the company regroups after technical issues put a halt to the demo in London

One thing is for sure though, any future demos will not be at Kinetica museum in London. A recent announcement on Kinetica's website www.kinetica-museum.org states that: "Kinetica's tenure is coming to an end this week. Over the forthcoming year the museum will become truly kinetic with a series of exhibitions around the globe"

Speculation as to where a successful 2nd attempt demo will be held is ongoing. London still seems like the place for maximum media exposure but maybe next time things will be done closer to home in Dublin, or even in the United States.

As soon as we know - the details will appear here.

Breaking News: "Steorn NOT a hoax" - Dr Mike's Report

Friday, July 13, 2007

"My conclusion after going through all this is that Steorn is neither hoax nor scam. It is delusion. The reason it seems surreal is because it is surreal - we are the real part of someone elses imagination."

"I am certain Steorn really believed I would see something that resembled their claim. They spent a lot of money setting up this demo and some 2000 pounds sending me over and putting me up. There are much cheaper ways to pull a con. If it was a hoax, the whole upstairs would not exist, nor would Sean have taken the time to go through all the details of how he thinks it all works. I can not describe any of those details without breaking the NDA, so it puts me in a fairly strange position."

Full Report Here

What Dr Mike cannot explain is that If indeed this were delusion then it would mean the entire company, staff, directors, investors are ALL delusional. Not only that, but they would all have to have been in a collective state of delusion for a period of 3 years.

This new report from Dr Mike backs up the case once again that Steorn are truly in posession of over-unity systems (free energy) and surely crushes any prospect of fraud or hoax once and for all.

If Steorn are guilty of anything, it seems they are just guilty of bad planning and crisis management for their demo.

Steorn CEO Answers Questions In Public Forum

Thursday, July 12, 2007

Sean McCarthy CEO of Steorn stepped into the public forum today and took time out to answer a few questions from forum members after the recent failed London Demo at Kinetica.

JoinTheFun: On a more serious note : what's the status of the African pump project ?
Sean: The pump I believe is being installed at the moment.

Wasn't that the reason you didn't replace the devices with stopstarts from Dublin?

Sean: As I said we bought three (CM) devices from Dublin in parts, got one working on site (it can take a while to balance the radial loads on the system) and then while under pressure used the parts from the other two systems to try and fix the prime system. It did not work. Thats the facts of the situation, believe it or believe it not.

JoinTheFun:There are a couple of days left in the Kinetica. Any chance of showing the world a working device these coming days ?

Sean: Nope.

Suomipoika: Sean! Are your all OU-devices so fragile that they'll breaka) if transported by car orb) if lights are too bright?

Sean: Nope

buzzlightyear:
I could understand if there was to be some nervosity between the investors right now. Do they actively follow the company developments, or do they act as distant financial investors? How are they taking the demo failure?

Sean: Clearly no one involved in the company is happy about the failed demo, but despite this we also need to keep perspective - its a failed demo full stop. It has shaken to the core any confidence that people not involved with the company have, and this is understandable. But we know what we have to things are not as dire as people would like to make them. We will do the demo, and then move on.

JoinTheFun: How is the overall mood in your team ?

Sean: Clearly it was not a good week. But we are 'back in the saddle' and a lot more motivated than we were a few weeks ago, so in a strange kind of way the failure of the demo may in fact speed up our route to market, we will see.

JoinTheFun:Can you tell us how recent events have affected the SPDCites ?Did you meet Babcat ?

Sean: I had a chance to meet a few of them for an extended period on Friday and Saturday, I have not had a chance to head into the SPDC, but we do consider the SPDC key to the Steorn project and so have a lot of confidence to regain with them. We are pulling together a plan to do that.

tony: Why are you even attempting to demo before the Jury verdict is out? p.s. I dont understand why you would even try to convince anyone before this. Surely you should be pragmatic, what if the verdict goes against you?

Sean: Tony - It seemed like a good week to put ourselves back on the agenda, we got on the agenda but for the wrong reasons. Sean

mrflora: The pump again, Sean... are you saying that now, today, this week, a pump is being installed in Africa that is driven by Orbo overunity technology?
Regards,M.R.F.

Sean: The pump is being installed by a local engineering contractor (I do not know the exact schedule), once this is in place we will install the Orbo power supply for it.

hugojpinto: Do you realize and believe that doing a convincing demo + technology showcase + providing straight replication access is a critical piece of in gaining confidence in the near future?
Hugo

Sean: Yes - and perhaps even a bit more than that.

/: Sean, we have heard that many actual Orbo-based systems have been made by external companies (like the "validation toys", for the Africa pump, etc.). Can you tell us some rough figure how many third-party engineering companies have been involved so far?

Sean: 4-5

crank: What did you think of Spiritual Beggar's cartoon?

Sean: lol - I had a beer with SP on friday and he told me that I was doing great things for his creativity - damn him!!! There was a copy of it on my desk this morning, its fantastic!.

blueletter: Did you sir, or did you not, get piss drunk on the very night of both your infamous demo debacle and your wife's foot breaking incident?

Sean: Nope. And no my wife did not break her foot kicking me around the place, she broke it the day before we went to London.

rosco: Hi Sean, are the public relations company behind your strategy? If so isn't it time to get rid of them as it seems like you've now used up nine lives in public opinion terms

Sean: Sure it may seem that way to you at the moment, bottom line is that it is a failed demo, embarrasing for sure, but no more than that. We will do a demo, then lets see what happens.

FLD: Sean - is the African water pump driven by fuel-less Orbo technology? Yes or no will be fine thanks.

Sean: It will be fuel-less when the project is completed, at the moment we are only in the process of installing the basic pumping system.

korkskrew: I still don't understand the purpose of a demo. It seems like a lot of expense for no real business reason. Is it just for our entertainment? Seems like a lot of money and effort for that.

Sean: Hi Korkskrew, with a claim so wild we decided that we need to do multiple things to errode the view that we do not have what we claim to have. This event failed, very clearly failed, but we believe that it was worth the effort and will do the demo. Our prime investment was in marketing materials and these will be used for the rescheduled event when we decide to do it.

SteornTracker: Hi Sean, back in April you mentioned that there would be a second quarter Jury update. Are you still planning on providing an update? When do you think that update will be available? Thanks, SteornTracker

Sean: Hi ST, have not even thought about the subject at the moment.

FLD: This event failed, very clearly failed, but we believe that it was worth the effort
errrm...it was an utter failure and made you a laughing stock but it was worth the effort?
As in we believe that it is worth the effort doing public demos, this one did not work out but we will for sure do public demos again in the future. On openness, in the post cancellation video you mentioned something about being less cryptic and covert, and pushing Steorn into a more open direction. Can you expand on that?

Sean: We have plans in place to deal with the confidence issues, but I will not be pre-announcing these, they will happen and let people debate them at that time. Thanks, Sean.

prprior: Sean, for the sake of those that don't think this is a lie, hoax, or dilusion, why can't you post a video of at least a partial orbo? Enough to conceal any secrets with the design, but showing enough to ease a dry tongue.

Sean: As stated we will be doing stuff, I will not be going into what it is or when it will happen but we acknowledge that we do need to some additional things after the failure of the demo.

Kaiser Jive Albino: Sean, how long would it take an engineer at Steorn to build a working unit from scratch, with off the shelf parts? Will individuals be able to replicate it with "minimal" tooling? Thanks for your answers, and great to see you back btw!

Sean: Good to be back (I think) - the ease of replication for a hobbist has been a concern, however I do believe that one of the SPDC folks got a system running for 8 hours or so with what looks like pretty minimal parts, but I have not had a chance to look into this in any detail yet.

Steorn Jury Still Evaluating Orbo

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

It is fair to say that the demonstration of Steorn’s Orbo technology recently at Kinetica in London did not go as planned. Giving the world “free energy” was never going to be that easy, was it?

Despite feeling disappointed about Orbo’s introduction to the world being so problematic it’s worth noting that this does entirely have the feel of just a small company, (20 EMPLOYEES) in a hurry and ill prepared for potential technical issues arising on-site.

I remember a famous Microsoft presentation by Bill Gates where things went horribly wrong live with his Windows Operating System, much to the amusement of the press pack. Things do go wrong, even with billionaire demos.

It’s also worth remembering that the 22 strong jury testing is now in it’s 6th month of testing. Now I don’t know about you, but I do know one thing. 22 physicists don’t hang around for 6 days let alone 6 months If something doesn’t work. They’d have been out of there pretty damned quick If Steorn wasn’t engaging them with something of substance – agreed?

Besides, If people think that Steorn have some ulterior motive by spending money like it’s going out of fashion only to result in a failed demo then I can’t quite see the logic in that either.

In short. A botched demo. Nothing more. Nothing less. Free energy is still very much on the cards. We await the next development in the saga.

Steorn - Orbo Demo Live Cams On

Friday, July 6, 2007

Image Capture from Live Cam 1

Changing the world is not an easy task, so the Orbo demo is not fully operational YET. An event like this takes enormous planning and technical difficulties to overcome - so this is just a delay. In the meantime and in the spirit of transparency (good on them), Steorn have enabled the live camera feeds showing the inside of the Kinetic Museum where the exhibit is set up.

Kinetica Camera Feeds

Camera 1 - Close Up
Camera 2 - Yop View
Camera 3 - Nice Longer View
