Free Energy Sites Hacked

So about 30 of my Free Energy websites including Free Energy TV were hacked last week so that they would appear as an "internal server error" to users. The ISP replicated the "error" and said that modifications had been made to the .htaccess files.
First thing to note is that I don't use .htaccess files at all.
When I checked these .htaccess files they contained scripting to alter the site availability.
Just a coincidence....nothing to worry about.
